JUDGEMENT, 2023
Based off of an old sketch I did in the library back in the day! I remember having a lot of Google searches of conjoined twins open. Support your local library!
The figure on the right (our right) went through several transformations--for a while she had a giant beast’s head, and I remembered Beauty and the Beast concept sketches where the Beast was a raven of some sort. Ultimately, I settled on the bird skull because of sizing, and visual balance (whoa, balance?! That’s the whole Judgement’s card thing!).
The imagery in this card is pretty straightforward: the libra constellation in the background represent scales, the mirror in the hand to reflects on yourself, and the mountains are taken from the classic Rider Waite tarot cards. But if somebody could please tell me why I chose an apple for the right hand, that would be appreciated.
